Let’s talk about SEX. Baby…

It’s not always about the sex though … is it?
Has everyone heard the Salt ‘N Peppa song, Let’s Talk About Sex?

“Let’s talk about sex, baby

Let’s talk about you and me

Let’s talk about all the good things

And the bad things that may be

Let’s talk about sex”

Let’s get started, shall we?

This is true, unfortunately when the partners are mad at each other or don’t care for one another. The male will have his fun without a care if his partner is having fun as well, whereas the female will withhold or seek sex from someone else.
Men and women alike think about sex, but differently – most of the time. Most women equate sex with love while most men look for a way to enjoy the intimate act without any strings attached. There are exceptions, as you know, but I’m not going to get into those.
Sex is fun, dirty, energetic, releasing, gratifying, and satisfying. Well, it is if you and your partner fit well together and neither are afraid of expressing themselves.
Sex is an expression of one’s self in an intimate way, but it has been cheapened as it can be found literally, and figuratively, everywhere.
I’m here today to speak on the literal, or literary aspect of sex we see. Some of the books that I have found in my kindle are:
You see, these all have SEX in their title or subtitle. By reading their names only, you would think they are all erotica or borderline anyway, right? Well, you’d be wrong, mostly. In this line up is a Cozy Mystery, a Contemporary Romance, a Romantic Comedy, a Humor, and a Mystery. Can you tell which is which by their titles? All we know by their titles and covers there MUST be Sex involved.
Here’s the rundown:
SEX HELL
By Joe Canzano
Synopsis:

When Debbie de La Fontaine tries to spice up her love life by supernaturally tampering with her sex life, she is cursed to spend every future encounter in a magical place called “Sex Hell,” where the sex is ludicrous and amazing but the romance is scarce.

Her only chance for escape is through the stingy clues supplied by an obnoxious demon, and the only way to obtain the clues is by returning to Sex Hell again and again to have outrageous sexcapades with the man she most wants to avoid—or does she?

Sex Hell is an absurd comic fantasy about the confusion of relationships. How is love related to sex, and how is sex related to love—and do love and sex need to be related at all?

If you’re a fan of authors like Christopher Moore, Douglas Adams, Tom Robbins, Robert Rankin, or Terry Pratchett, give Sex Hell a try!

That is until she takes her children on vacation to Disneyworld in sunny Florida, where she just happens to end up in a hotel room right next to her college flame, Alan James. Here’s the answers:

SEX HELL : Humor

Sex, Lies, and Snickerdoodles : Cozy Mystery

Sex, Lies, and Family Vacations : Romantic Humor

Sex, Lies, & Sweet Tea : Mystery

Hook & Ladder 69 : Contemporary Romance

F*CKING AWKWARD : Romance: Didn’t see that one coming, did you? teehee

Well, we all know how awkward sex is!

Bottom line?

We all know sex sells even if the story isn’t actually about sex.

Just hint there may be sex involved, books and movies fly from the shelves.

Looking at the books above, it looks like sex and lies go hand and hand.

What do you think about sex and lies?

I think we will leave that as a topic for later…

*Seriously, though, I want to know your thoughts.
